Tom Brady finally has two wide open receivers!! (Heard first on VH1). Reche Caldwell has no chance to get any playing time!!

Honestly the hater in me loved the fact that there is now dirt on Mr. Squeaky Clean. That is if you define "dirt" as having a child with a hot actor that you are no longer dating. I sure do!!

I have to figure that her decision to keep the child was a little easier considering who the father is. I'm sure if she made a mistake one night with Paul Giamatti the decision might of taken a little longer.

This led me to wonder what a test tube of Tom Brady juice would yield on the street. Seriously, I guarantee you a rich single woman in Boston would definitely cut a check for 100,000 to have this opportunity. Has this ever been offered on E-Bay yet?

The best part of the article is when the coaches are complaining about scheduling conflicts and are concerned if the suspended matches will be re-scheduled instead of being concerned about the well-being of the athletes.

This is for all of the die-hard Pittsburgh Steeler fans. I respect and admire Tom Brady and the Patriots but I found myself passionately cheering for the Colts. The reason was simple, the Patriots were very close to becoming the second team to win 4 Superbowls in 6 years. The other of course being the 1970's Steelers. I was not ready to argue against the vast number of Patriot fans who would of said that their dynasty was better. In fact, I would of agreed with them especially since they had to deal with free agency and the 1970's Steelers did not. All of that is pointless and like Chris Berman says on ESPN when the last undefeated team in the regular season loses....."Whats that sound? That is the sound of the champagne bottle popping as the Dolphins celebrate another season as the only undefeated team ever." Well that same bottle of Mums can now be opened by the 1970's Pittsburgh Steelers dynasty. The next bottle probably will not be opened for some time!!

I can positively say that players from both dynasties have taken some weird photos!!!

The NFL playoffs did not disappoint this weekend!!

To summarize:

If there was ever a person that sold his soul to Satan for success it was Tom Brady. In fact I would not be suprised if he was the Anti-Christ himself. He won with Reche Caldwell and Jabar Gaffney as his main wide receivers!!

Ladian Tomlinson did not think the Patriots were "classy" after winning on Sunday. This was after some of the Patriots mocked the Shawn Merriman dance. L.T. stated that he would never act like that after a win. Of course L.T. plays in San Diego the home of Ron Burgundy. It is impossible for L.T. to behave in any other way......."You stay classy San Diego"!!

Who would want to do the Shawn Merriman dance anyway? That dance should be proof enough that he is on steroids!!!

If you just woke up from your New Years Eve party then you might not have heard that Boise St. running back Ian Johnson proposed to his girlfriend after he scored the game winning two point conversion in the Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma. The girl, Boise State cheerleader Chrissy Popadics, accepted the proposal. Talk about timing, this guy at least has some common sense to ask a girl to marry him right after he is the hero in his school's biggest victory ever. That girl had to say yes, especially since it was caught live on National TV!!

In a semi-related issue, it is interesting to watch a bowl game involving either Utah or BYU due to the inordinate amount of players that are already married. This is usually due to many players practicing the Mormon faith. What if Ian Johnson was a Mormon? Would he have proposed to all of the cheerleaders?

Oklahoma State basketball

I was watching the Pittsburgh vs. Oklahoma St. basketball game on ESPN 2. It is still amazing to me that Sean Sutton has been hired to replace his father Eddie Sutton when he resigned last year after he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. I have a few comments about this whole situation.

Did OSU interview any other candidates before hiring Sean Sutton?

Sean Sutton got rid of a few players that he felt were not ideal for the program. He now only plays 7 scholarship players. Did he blame his father for recruiting assholes?

I hate the name JamesON Curry.

Doesn't the athletic director at OSU realize that "parents who do drugs have children who do drugs"........along these lines can't you see Sean playing zone and Eddie sees this and shows his disapproval and Sean shouts back "I learned it from watching you dad!!"

Movie Review "The Departed"

I had high hopes for this movie, especially when a few critics are comparing it the the classic Goodfellas. Goodfellas had a sense of reality, this movie however felt over-the-top at almost every angle. The inter-departmental banter between the state employees is unbelievable and felt a bit manufactured. Jack Nicholson dominates the screen and his rants and raves are quite memorable. Leonardo Dicaprio and Matt Damon also do a fine job especially Damon who becomes an easily hated antagonist by the end of the movie. Suprisingly Alec Baldwin, the man in charge of Matt Damon's department, is one of the funniest characters in the film and has several humorous lines. The movie has too much testosterone flowing through it and the fact that every male character is a "bad-ass" corroborates my theory and leads us back to the movie feeling manufactured. Martin Scorsese did entertain in this movie and even morphed it into a black comedy at times which is The Departed's best quality. Overall a good Hollywood film, but lacking in a few areas. B-

New Reality Show?

I even have a couple of episodes that I think would be entertaining.

Have Bill Belichick drop by unannounced after the 10th week of the NFL season when all of these guys are 4-6. Do you think Weis would be the only hospitable one. Would Romeo even get off of the couch to say hi?

Have Nick Saban flip out on Romeo Crennel for drinking straight out of the milk carton and Eric Mangini for eating all of the Milky Way bars.

The best episode would entail Nick Saban walking into the livingroom only to find Charlie Weis watching some porn movie in his underwear with that weird spit that he develops on the sides of his mouth. The classic line from Charlie would be "I thought you were going to be out with the fellas tonight".

Just an idea for VH1 or Spike TV.

Aside: The title is very similar to Jake and the Fat Man which leads me to: In this decade we have Joe Buck mentioning "Prison Break" on FOX or Jim Nantz beeming about "Spring Break Shark Attack" on CBS. In the early nineties Dick Enberg would plug "60 minutes" and then "Jake and the Fat Man" Have we as a society entered the Dark Ages of TV??

I do not know one person who saw or heard the story on the news and said "Damn there goes my weekend plans"!! Sorry if I do not get upset if the city's heroin supply might be tainted and the corresponding users affected. In fact, this could be a new crime fighting technique. Less heroin addicts, less crime!!

Justin Timberlake - FutureSex/Lovesounds

If Justin Timberlake ever wrote us a symphony (as he proposes to his love interest in the first line of the album’s standout track, My Love), Timberland had better be wearing a white glove, holding the baton, and conducting the orchestra. JT and Tim reached R&B/pop Utopia the last time their respective dexterities fused on Cry Me A River (could anyone with a pulse think that song sucked?), and, on My Love, they once again returned to that musical paradise...For my taste, JT doesn’t do enough Jack-o impressions on this album, but despite that minor flaw, Futuresex/Lovesound is certainly Worthlisteningto /Overandoveragain. He absolutely kills the ballad (Another Song) All Over Again, and though I’m not personally fond of the first single Sexyback because it fails to display Timberlake’s brilliant vocals (and Tim could’ve made the same song with Carl Lewis), the track (and the several others like it) will certainly be responsible for a litany of dance-club-related pelvic injuries. In context, 3.75 out of 5.

The Killers -Sam's Town

Everyone (that cared) braced themselves for the manifestly obvious transition the Killers were going to unleash as follow up to their immensely successful debut, Hot Fuss. The writing was drawn on the wall in hot magenta crayon when rumors began swirling that Sam’s Town endeavored to become “Born to Run” part duex. This revelation, most strikingly, meant that the Killers might be tampering with the New Wave, synth pop formula that catapulted them to stardom two years ago...Although Sam’s Town has received mixed reviews (and by mixed, I mean it pissed some people off – see Rob Sheffield’s Rolling Stone blasting), it doesn’t deviate from Hot Fuss to the point that the band’s identity is lost. Simply put, The Killers are still capable of making the big hits (When you were Young is CLASSIC) and providing that same craveable jolt of adrenaline (see For Reasons Unknown). With that said, they may have pushed the Springsteen man-crush a little too far (haven’t we all though?) on tracks like This River is Wild (What a terrible song name – makes me think of Kevin Bacon – which, in turn, makes me think of him in his underwear playing grab-ass with Michael Jordan on a Hanes commercial). Its almost as if they tried to capture Springsteen’s entire career in one song with references to a RIVER, a hopeless town, a transition to a Born-to-Run/Jungleland-style piano, and circus imagery, followed by the topper -- a reference to “Mary” (although out of context). Brandon Flowers’ vocals sound polished (even resembling a young Bono in some places), and, at times, they even contain an aura of spirited audacity amidst a backdrop of Springsteen-esque hopelessness. The question that I pose is this: Was this spirit of urgency (ala “My car’s out back if you’re ready to take that long walk”) actually any different from that on Hot Fuss? Or is Sam’s Town critiqued differently because it is heard through more expectation-rich and skeptical ears? Solid Second Effort. 3.5 out of 5.

Saints Win! More Aide to Katrina Victims

In Washington D.C. today the U.S. government announced the amount of aide that will be going to the Gulf Area of the United States that was affected by Hurricane Katrina. The amount of aide that will be awarded is variable, and it is based upon the number of wins that the New Orleans Saints of the NFL will have in the 2006 football season. For every Saints win the US government will give 1 billion dollars. When asked about this questionable decision President George Bush said that "Now the Saints will really be important to the local economy in Lousiana. Now the government can give solid evidence as to why millions of dollars of federal tax monies went to a football arena (Superdome) instead of the area's infrastructure." Saints rookie phenom Reggie Bush appears to be agitated by the decision. Bush was quoted as saying "When I first held out in training camp, I didn't realize the millions of lives I was impacting simply by taking more time with negotiating my contract . Now there is a good chance that we can get double digit wins.... I need to re-negotiate my contract! Maybe I can get a New Orleans street named after me... after they are rebuilt of course.

Leyland thinks Tigers should start smoking

Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland thinks his Tigers have gotten nervous down the stretch and started to "press a little". When asked what the solution could be as his team enters the playoffs Leyland replied saying that "cigarettes have always calmed me down when I was with the Pirates and Marlins". "Actually I have implemented a policy during the last week of the season" Any productive play and you get a Malboro cigarette (as shown in the picture)." "If Chris Shelton was here he would get Virginia slims" The veteran manger has not shyed away from his smoking in the past, especially being caught on camera several times smoking during the actual game. You have to admire how candid Leyland was in an interview
for ESPN, and how he did not give the typic schmeel-bag answer.

Steelers QB questionable for Game against Cincinnati

The Pittsburgh Steelers 3rd year quarterback is questionable for Sundays game against division rival Bengals. The reason is that while playing with his pet dog, Roethlisberger sustained a scratched hand and a flare up of his allergies. Big Ben has had several ailments while playing for the steelers including a supposedly broken thumb, foot, sprained knee, motorcycle accident, vertigo (from said accident), appendicitis, and 100.4 fever. Ben was quoted as saying "People may not know this but diabetes runs in my family and my blood sugar was kinda low before the Super Bowl. I actually had to eat a Milky Way candybar." Coach Bill Cowher's only comment on the injuries were "Ben actually doesn't have a dog and his situation will be monitored daily" he also tersely replied that the candybar "was actually a Nestle Crunch".

Patriots Trade Branch

Yesterday the New England Patriots finally traded Deion Branch for a 2007 First round pick. Tom Brady is running out receiving options. At least he still has Mike Vrabel as a receiving threat. Maybe Tebucky Jones or Rodney Harrison can play in the slot as a wide receiver.

The good new for Patriot fans? They are thinking about drafting a tightend or defensive linemen with their 2007 first round pick!

U.S. National Team

Spain held Greece to 47 points. Greece scored 101 against the U.S. The Spaniards must know something about defense that the U.S. doesn't. All this without their best player in Paul Gasol. Maybe it was the siestas that Spain took at halftime that propelled them to beat Greece. Or all of the energy they get from all of the "Spanish" rice that they consume. Something enabled Spain to yield only 47 pts to the Greece National team.

Here is what Coach K had to say when the U.S. team lost to Greece.

"Their offense beat our defense," summarized U.S. head coach Mike Krzyzewski. "I though that our kids played with great heart. We lost to a team that played a great game. They (U.S.) played with all their hearts and they played against a team that played with all their hearts."

Coach, lets just assume that everyone in the tournament has heart. I like Coach K, but sometimes his post game comments are a little sappy!! Can't you give us anymore insight than that coach? Ever heard of a zone defense?

If the U.S. doesn't win gold in 2008, I think it is time to put the CIA/NSA on this issue. Maybe they can bomb other countries training facilities.

Joe Theismann loves Drew Bledsoe

If anyone watched the game last night then you would have noticed Joe Theismann gushing about Drew Bledsoe. Definite man crush. Tony Kornheiser called him out on it, actually it was pretty funny to hear why Theismann loved Bledsoe. Kinda like hearing your best friend try to explain why he is dating a girl that his friends think is very "whorish".
